A few weeks ago I was able to get a discounted TOYL box (a beauty subscription box) through my mobile provider, Vodafone… it was a box of Philip Kingsley hair care sample sizes and within it was the Anti-Dandruff Shampoo – also the conditioner, but I’ll do a separate review of that soon!
I suffer badly with dandruff and a sore scalp when stressed and when hormones are going crazy, but I haven’t bought an anti-dandruff or scalp product in years as I usually dislike the smell or find they make my hair greasy or dull.
But here was the lovely Philip Kingsley brand staring out at me and I’m so glad it was included in the box… it absolutely does NOT smell like your typical anti-dandruff shampoos, it’s more fruity – I think it smells of apples!
The texture is good and it lathers well, but not too much that the foam slides away.
It’s a very good cleanser and it does not irritate my scalp in any way – not even a tingle! Which I really was pleased about as I have some small stress sores at the moment.
I noticed after the first wash that my scalp was much less itchy than normal, and after 3-4 washes I noticed a definite reduction in dandruff and my sores appeared to be starting to heal.
My hair is fine and flyaway – this certainly didn’t make it worse, my hair is still behaving in its usual way!
As I only had a little sample this time, I can’t yet review the long-term effects, but this is the shampoo I plan to buy next once my current bottle and samples are finished!
